Description
Inspired by the Buffalo People of Pte, this Legendary Blanket from Pendleton features a striking pattern in a robe size – the preferred sizing by Native Americans for ceremonial purposes. Carefully and methodically crafted from a pure virgin new wool and cotton blend, it features a distinctive Pendleton pattern and is perfect for cuddling up with on the sofa or as a statement wall hanging in any room of the house. This blanket features four buffalo gathered around a medicine wheel, with each pointing in the sacred Four Directions. The Lakota people depended on the Pte, the bison, for food, clothing and shelter. Pte were honoured as ‘The Buffalo People’ and artist Jim Yellowhawk uses an ancient style to illustrate Mitakuye Oyasin – a belief that all living creatures are family, and can live in harmony and peace. A wonderful gift.
